About Gestamp’s Engineering Internship Program
Gestamp provides an opportunity for students to accelerate their careers through internship learning opportunities. Students working at Gestamp are challenged, trained, and coached by experienced employees in order to shape them into successful engineers within the automotive industry.
The primary focus of our internship programs is to provide hands-on learning and real world experience to engineering students enrolled at an accredited college or university. They will develop engineering capability in design, development, product knowledge, problem solving, and technical support.

Opportunities are available in all of our 13 locations in Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, Welding, Controls, and more.

Sample Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering data, analyzing, and drawing engineering conclusions.

  • Request and document engineering print and specification changes and releases.

  • Assist in gathering information on standardization, new technologies, and cost reduction ideas.

  • Organize and prioritize work requests to meet project timing requirements.

  • Gain knowledge in engineering procedures, tools, and engineering process development.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MUST be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s level engineering degree program at an accredited university with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site.

  • Ability to participate in an internship work term (minimum of 10 weeks).

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • Geographically flexible and willing to relocate during the program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in automotive, manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics engineering.

  • Student with either a Junior or Senior class status.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
